"Canned" answers and the Super Bowl.

"FOR YOUR DISCERNMENT!!!"
"Fair Use for Information or Discussion Purposes"

While starting to write this post, I had a sports program on the
TV and they said something about a "Las Vegas wedding" in
jest. I guess you could say or ask "How serious?" you are if
you tell your spouse that you can just get married "in Vegas"!?

But that's not what this is about.

Before I got out of bed, I just lay there and thought about
"things". Before the Super Bowl, I listened to Russel Wilson's
way of speaking which seemed to be SOOO GENUINE when
compared with the "canned" answers (it seemed to me) from
Peyton Manning. Peyton is "nice" and, obviously, the world
LOVES him (he does so many commercials), but from a
"Christian" perspective, is THAT (the love of the world)
desirable?!

1 John 2 (NKJV)
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone
loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all
that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes,
and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.

From the VERY FIRST PLAY which made Peyton really look
BAD, it NEVER got much better. At the first snap of the ball
of Super Bowl XLVlll LINK, the football SAILED by his head
and into the end zone for a safety (2 points on 2/2) for Seattle!!!

This, pretty much, set the stage for the WHOLE GAME.

DID GOD USE THIS SUPER BOWL TO SPEAK A MESSAGE?!

Before the game, even though I "could" see Peyton receiving
the Super Bowl trophy to add to his VERY MANY AWARDS,
it would just be another round of, to me, more "canned" answers.
But, for Russell Wilson, it would be new and more genuine (AND
IT WAS)!!!!!!!!!!! I watched and listened to him speak and he was
ALWAYS saying (with geniune humility) things like, "It's such a
blessing!" (obviously referring to just "being" a 'new" pro football
player and experiencing some of its "blessings"!!!)!!!!!

Hmmmmmmmmm............................

There are "good sounding" answers that Christians can
give for NOT doing "so and so": To me, Laodiceans. are
VERY GOOD at producing "canned answers".

Revelation 3 (NIV)
14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:

These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness,
the ruler of God’s creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are
neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other!
16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am
about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have
acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize
that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel
you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become
rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful
nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and
repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone
hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with
that person, and they with me.

21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me

Father on his throne.

Hmmmmmmm........................

I also wondered how many teenage boys saw this and thought,

"Hey, Peyton drinks Bud Lite after a hard game, I guess it's OK!"
