Hi,

I personally want to sincerely thank you for some of the content on your site, especially the animated gifs. I'll explain why

Somewhen from around mid-95 to mid-97 I ran a very popular wrestling site, it was called WWF Wrestling Richy Boy Style!, the URL if I remeber correctly was http://whirligig.ecs.soton.ac.uk/~rgd93/ , not that it exists any more(and nor has it for a long time now!) Being one of the early 'pioneers' of web wrestling sites (all respect to Alan Coltrain who was the true visionary

in this field) and also having lots of bandwidth I specialised in a lot of multimedia. My site was renowned for 3 things primarily, it was frequently updated, I possessed a lot of music (no mp3 back then, all wav) and the finishing moves page containing avi's and animated gifs.

Alas I left university and didn't archive everything up very well and worse still in the year that followed I had a HD failure and lost it all.

The Finishers page had two features. One, it had a thumbnail of the wrestler, the official promo photos in a gif about 80x80 in size, and secondly I made a stack load of animated gifs and avi's. Not just finishing moves, but others moves as well, like mankind falling off a ladder. I thought these had gone forever!

After having a snout around the 'net recently looking for any of my old works, your site has it nearly all! I thank you, for it enabled me to go back over what I had done and the fond memories associated with making the gifs and running the site as my hobby whilst I was studying at university.

Not all of them on the page are mine, and there are more that I did that aren't on there. I've forgotten how many I made in the end anyway By and large, most animated gifs I've found on the net have been the ones I created all that time ago but your collection is impressive. A rule of thumb, if it has a sky sports logo in the top right corner, it is something I have done (long rectangular box, or a round looking thing). The reason for using animated gifs should be apparant as well.. you were not the first to suffer bandwidth problems with multimedia Take 1996, mpeg and mp3 where simply not around and far from being established. I did make a large number of avi's using the latest codecs of the day, I've never found any of those again since, but the animated gifs were basically the 'cut down' version of

the avi's for those on modem, which was like almost everyone back then

In fact some of the biggest multimedia sites of their times (falcon, simplenet etc) all owe me a great deal for their sites where perhaps 80% based on the material I created.

Ah well, enough history, I just wanted to let you know that you've made my day, totally made my day, I never thought I would get to see any of my stuff ever again in such quantity. Thanks!
