Message:   Here's my story...

2nd night in Edinburgh and we go see the bbc late night stand up thing. who was compere but some girl drinking snakebite, nice touch. later we find it is Josie long... we are intrigued. She makes us go awww yeahh in a pseudo American voice for a while which begins the grate, yet it becomes the defining saying of our Edinburgh trip... we literally cant stop saying it...

(e.g. do you want ketchup with that?...awww yeah, having a poo?...awwww right!)

Later in the week we get stopped on the royal mile by some dude giving free tickets for a ‘lunch time comedy showcase’ where you see some people doing a few jokes to promote their show, actually it was funnier than the bbc thing, crazy.... anyway, who was there AGAIN, but Josie Long... (plus we are Klang, who are also brilliant) we hear some jokes we heard before and they are still funny...

A few days later we are 'on the mile...' and who appears... yes you've guessed it... is there no escaping this crazy lady? We give her a communal 'awww yeh' and she seems genuinely disturbed by our outburst.

Later talking to a friend, who has also experienced the previously mentioned sequence of ‘Josie Long’ events, we muse upon the idea of going to Josie’s actual show at the Café Royal, yeh that’s right we didn’t think we had seen enough!

Then no sooner have we said it than we are walking down ‘the mile’ again and another guy suggests we go to ‘this comedy thing’, he has free tickets, we then realise ‘the comedy thing is’… yes you’ve guessed it Josie Long…. AGAIN! Does this girl have no moral standards, but to target the same innocent individuals who have already sat through the pedometer joke twice?

Anyway, the highlight of the show for me is to become the subject of the ‘get your name in my joke’ joke… it seems fitting after all I have been through.

Well, having come back from Edinburgh, I finally can rest assured that Josie Long can’t get me or my friends to any more of her shows… then I check the website and find she is playing a gig in December in Farnham in Surrey. Where is that I hear you cry… well exactly. But it does happen to be home of the surrey institute of art and design and also the place I study graphics. It’s a tiny town, why would a comedienne want to do a gig there?

Now I’d like to think this is a coincidence but given the above chain of seemingly random events you can now probably understand my scepticism….

Having said that each time was really funny, and I would have gone without the free tickets, i just needed to point out im not a weird stalker or anything, cos im not alright! no really im not!

James

P.S. Bob Dylan…. awww yeh!
