Re: Blender Top 100 Songs of 2005
Clarkson's “Since U Been Gone" really THAT big (even for the Bender bunch??) I remember switchin' the channel everytime I glimpsed at the clip but who knows... "Toxic" used to catch my attention though last year, thus I'm not really a indie whino... but I'm feeling SO lost right now. After all ...

Re: Blender Top 100 Songs of 2005
I don't know...it took me a LONG time to even hear "Since U Been Gone" in full, but when I did, I thought it was a pretty kickin' song, then about 4 months later I couldn't get enough of it...I guess it has sort of a snowball-effect to it. But great song nonetheless |

Re: Blender Top 100 Songs of 2005
That's weird, isn't it. Those overproduced MOR/MTV of all songs ALWAYS take the longest time to catch your mind. You don't need any second to fall in love with A Love Supreme or Five Leaves Left or any CocoRosie stuff. But how long will it take to worship "I Want It That Way" (and I'm STILL a pilgrim for the latter one...) |

Re: Blender Top 100 Songs of 2005
"Since U Been Gone" is a catchy track and has a nice throwback feel to it, but Kelly isn't quite as convincing on the song as some make her out to be (in my opinion). |

Ugh! I just noticed R Kelly at #2. What is with so many critics praising that mess? |

Blender Is Good For...
throwing in some of the more mainstream tracks that some other pubs probably wouldn't include in year-end listings. Not suroprised to see Since U Been Gone top the list, as it was on that recent 500 Greatest Songs feature. Henrik, do you still list songs in the year the album was released, even when it has year-end list appearances from the following year? Or, is that just for tracks with all-time-list appearances and no year-end lists? |

Re: Blender Top 100 Songs of 2005
All songs are listed under the year the song was first released, which could be either as a single or as an album track prior to single release. At least this is what I'm aiming for. |

I've never heard of Kelly Clarkson, who is she? Is she good? And what is that song you are discussing |

Clarkson...
as I call it, "Karaoke Idol." But, her second album has moved her away from that stigma somewhat. The singles released have been pretty decent, and she's done very well with them. |

Re: Blender Top 100 Songs of 2005
Yeah but how much backing has she got behind her? Millions of dollars. It would be hard for her to fail really. |

Re: Blender Top 100 Songs of 2005
And she's got a pale prescriptioned voice like every TV cast show winner from all over the planet. No, sorry, I've been indulgent for a while, but this is crap, I really can't help with it. Listened to it several times last night - it just leaves me craving for some old Stevie Nicks records, and what good might they be right now compared to THIS.. sorry
