Acclaimed Pazz & Jop

1. The Woods - Sleater-Kinney (14 points)
2. Picaresque - The Decemberists (12)
3. Get Behind Me Satan - The White Stripes (11)
4. I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning - Bright Eyes (11)
5. Devils and Dust - Bruce Springsteen (10)
6. I'm a Bird Now - Antony and the Johnsons (10)
7. LCD Soundsystem - LCD Soundsystem (9)
8. Arular - M.I.A. (9)
9. Illinois - Sufjan Stevens (8)
10. You Could Have It so Much Better - Franz Ferdinand (6)

If you don't know how it works, the scoring system is 100 total points divided among 10 albums, but you can't give more than 30 or less than five to any album on your list. If you can't add, that's not my problem.

The deadline is Jan. 14, and no, The Arcade Fire are not eligible. I'll add up the total votes at the end on Jan. 15.

Sure, The Go! Team can be eligible. North American bias. Plus the American version had a couple of redone songs and a couple of new ones.

Re: Acclaimed Pazz & Jop

P.S. You do have to score ten albums, otherwise your top albums will receive an unfair amount of points compared to everyone else's.

And Stefan needs to repost his list. 5 points is the minimum for an album.

The Annie album was not released outside Norway in 2004, was it?

Anyway, it is in my 2004 list, and probably would have made quite the Top 10 in my 2005 list anyway.

Re: Acclaimed Pazz & Jop

I hate to say it but the new Mariah Carey is topping a lot of year ends lists. That proves just how dreadful this year was in music. I'm sure she'll be in the top 20. I hope Sigor Ros, Ladytron and Art Brut are in the top 20. Lately you critics are ignoring my faves. What's wrong with you? Where are all the Rodney Bingenheimer bands. Rodney hated synths just like me.

I look forward to the sum up of these ballots.

Unfortunately, I couldn't participate myself. I am so behind. The only thing I know is that Sufjan would have gotten 30 points from me, and The Magic Numbers is currently number 2 in my list.

Re: Acclaimed Pazz & Jop

Would it be possible for me to submit a revamped list? I got 2 albums over the holidays that I actually would put in at Nos. 1 and 2, and have helped remove some of the disappointment I had over the last year. If it's too much of a pain, not to worry -- they probably wouldn't appear on the final list, anyway.

Awesome! Just ignore my 1st list. This new list may seem somewhat of a waste, as the new entries will probably get few other points, but it's much more honest. Here goes:

01. Konono No. 1 / Congotronics [17 pts]
02. Edan / Beauty and the Beat [17 pts]
03. Sufjan Stevens / Illinois [13 pts]
04. Lightning Bolt / Hypermagic Mountain [10 pts]

07. Annie / Anniemal [8 pts]
08. The Fiery Furnaces / EP [7 pts]
