Re: UNCUT - 100 rock and movie icons
I've seen some the top 10 somewhere. There was "Heartbreak Hotel" by Elvis Presley, "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust" by David Bowie and the first two Godfather movies. I don't remember the rest. |

Re: UNCUT - 100 rock and movie icons
To me the list seems very chaotic, but I suppose it is inevitable. Still many of my favourite albums are here, so I hope it can be included, despite its mixed character. |

Re: UNCUT - 100 rock and movie icons
Yeah, the list is all over the place. However, it probably reads better in a magazine format rather than listed like that. Regardless, I thought it stuck a little TOO close to the canon. The only things one could consider even slightly obscure are the Associates album and the Orange Juice single, and those are both safely buried near the bottom of the list. |

Re: UNCUT - 100 rock and movie icons
I think that's because it was supposed to be a list of music and films that change the world. Obscure things don't change the world, however good they are. |

Re: UNCUT - 100 rock and movie icons
Guys, could you please clarify this. Is H61R mentioned without being the actual list item? I guess "Like a Rolling Stone" is safe as the AM all time no. 1 then... |

In which case, the Associates and Orange Juice shouldn't be in there! (Of course they are because they're recent "pet" Uncut bands.) Oh well, it's a fine list. |

Re: UNCUT - 100 rock and movie icons
Who cares! The Stone Roses, Surfer Rosa, Daydream Nation and The Soft Bulletin are on it, so it gets thumbs up from me. Now if the only got rid of that pesky Van Morrison album...

I have the edition and it is simply an essay by Patti Smith on Like A Rolling Stone at number one. |
