News At Noon

Well it has happened,The track is complete it looks like it will be a usable racing surface this time.

I think the club meeting should be at the track on the 16th which is a scheduled race day for MKA. We do not need to race or practice on it but we need to clean up and fix the fences and make it ready for the August 30th race date, the surface should be cured by then and we can do what ever it takes to get the word out about our updated track and bring some attention to the sport we love so much.

We will be useing the track at Saucier for WKA divisional points races on August 23rd and Sept 13th and we invite anyone who wants to come to please do so,these are off weekend for MKA

PLEASE....... DO NOT GO OUT AND GET ON THE NEW SURFACE UNTIL IT HAS TIME TO CURE THIS WILL ONLY CAUSE IT TO PUSH UP IN THE TURNS....

Thanks
Bobby

Re: News At Noon

If you have a chance to contact John North please do so and thank him for the effort and time and stress he has encountered on our behalf, none of this would have been possible with out his presistance even though he had to do it with one hand tied behind his back.

Re: News At Noon

Excellent News Bobby!

I know you guys have worked hard to get this track paved over the years. It needed paved 15 years ago. It will be an excellent oppurtunity for the club to promote a first class facility now, new pavement and a great group of racers.

Congrats!

Re: News At Noon

And you want to let the pavement cure for a couple of weeks! When we repaved Saltillo about 8 years ago, we let it set for about a month and never had any pavement pushup issues. It will make for the best possible track, as Bobby stated, to let it cure.

It will be worth the wait once you ride on it for the first time.

Re: News At Noon

This IS excellent news!

We will all be ready for the 30th.

I wanted to also say THANKS all the folks who have worked VERY, VERY hard in getting this achieved.

Although I don't have John North's email or phone, if you will shoot me an email with it, I will surely send him a THANK YOU as well.

We will see you all on the 16th.
