What about our track?
I drove out to the track. And it looks like the motorcycle guys really like the new surface. Are they finished with the paving? |

If the reopening is pushed back into July is there any chance of having another race in Gulf Port? |

I believe that the tornado that took out North Jackson has had the street crews a little busy with clean up. Maybe if we had quit our jobs and gone and helped them we could have had it done sooner. I understand and if any one wants their money back for membership I will send it to you. As a matter of fact if any one want the checkbook and the paper work that goes with the club you are more welcome to have it. I'm tried of the post to the forum with the displeasure in this matter. The club has waited for more than four years for this to come and I'm sorry that it happened at the first of this year but I talk to Mr. North every week and post when I know something. But who every wants this position and thinks they have a better idea with dealing these things fell free to let me know and you can have the JOB. Thanks Mark |

First of all Mark Nothing I said was toward you or any of the MKA Officers. I was stating a fact that whoever was over that project at Jackson doesnt give a crap about MKA. First off the track should have been done and ready for the kids no later than the start of summer. Now for the other matter on books or whatever, You have done a good job from what I have seen and I have only offered you help. I do think we have other options available to us to keep racing and it seems no one cares or either no one wants to say anything. I have my son coming down from Texas to stay and we worked out our time for him to be here to be able to come down and race now it looks as if we will have no races for the time he will be down. That sucks. But whatever I have said my opinions on this and that is all it is opinions. Just dont see how we are going to get new people in if we are not racing. I have spent alot of time promoting MKA and getting people interested and ready to come to the track and it just seems to me that it is all for nothing. Im through ranting and raving and dont take anything I say as pointed at you Mark. Your a good prez and I thank you for all you do I know this is not your doings. I guess we have just not had as much fun as you have yet and its all new to us and we are ready to roll. Let me know if I can help anyway. I hope that all is well with Leanns eye. We still have her on our prayer list. |

Let’s just try to be patient and thankful that we have any place to race at all…With the litigious times we live in, and the kind of economic problems any city has these days (much less one the size of Jackson)….I am surprised the city government would even send out trustees to mow and weed-eat the infield….. After all, we certainly bring dollars to the City and the surrounding area, but nothing like one single weekend of soccer, bball, or anything else that requires a jersey brings in……I would have to assume it would simply be cheaper and easier for JAX if there was no racing on city property at all…… I am thankful they are willing to help work with us at any level…Sure we all are disappointed it hit right in the only cool part of the season, but if we get it surfaced properly now, we should not have to do it again for years…. This is not perfect, but I would not want to have the job of raising the money to have it done via contractor, nor be handed a shovel to sling 350 degree hot mix…… (in 95 degree WX!) I appreciate everyone’s desire to get running as soon as possible, and I appreciate the city and the MKA officers taking time out to get it right and get it safe…..Lets run to the coast when we can, enjoy thier hospitality, and look forward to celebrating a big return to JAX ASAP….. This delay may be a real blessing anyway…..Once all the coast racers we come in contact with at Saucier get to know the Taco Brothers, (Kendrick, Boykin & Young) You know they will travel north to race with us !! Come on Kev, let me buy you a taco! (love you brother!)

I don't know that I have a dog in this fight, but I know from experience that you can't get the City Parks and Recreation Dept. to do anything until they are good and ready. Then, you have the Street Maintenance dept. involved. Boy, what a pain in the ...... Remember that as it stands now, MKA does not pay the City for the use of the track. So, they don't have any real motivation to help us. Mark I know your doing a great job, just some real bad timing to be Prez. If I can do anything to help, please let me know. |

I am all for moving the races to gulf oaks or anywhere just lets race somewhere. not just forget about it and say well we will race as soon as possible. To me it is possible to race now. I know gas is very expensive but so is racing period. Instead of racing two time a month maybe we can just do one weekend. race on saturday and sunday. We can all just hang out at the track. Bring a tent and camp out at the track. I think MKA is the best thing that has happened to me and my sons as far as us spending time together and it just makes me sick to not be able to race. We go practice and have fun but it is not the same as watching them on the track racing. Thats all I am saying. And I am sorry for saying The jackson city employees dont give a crap. I dont know them maybe they do. And Louis you know for sure I am all about MKA and helping to make it grow. I have spent quiet a few hours with you and mr joe and I love it. anyways I was just upset because we wasnt going to be able to have any races when Taylor came down to stay. But I have found some other tracks to go try. So Ill just wait. |

I know gas is crazy right now and that makes it tough for you guys to come down to Gulf Oaks, but it is a really fun track! the last race we had there was a blast but it would have been even better with the whole Jackson crew! I've got a few dollars invested in this thing now and its just sitting in the trailer in my yard. Cole and I really want to race so maybe one race a month at Gulf Oaks would be a good Idea. It costs us alot (gas) to come to Jackson and race, but we I've been there everytime I was off of work and we had a race. Lets just race somewhere! It sucks just tinkering with everything in the yard! See ya'll, Jason |

I will rent the track for June 21st if everyone will come. If Mark and Kevin thinks it is ok we can maybe just have the entry fee for dirver to cover the club cost of trophies and maybe just do cost on insurance. That would offset some gas cost. I would love to just get together and get something set in place. Everyone think about it and let me know your thoughts. If everyone wants to just wait to race thats fine and at least Ill know I need to look for somewhere else to race. We need track time with other racers on the track for Trace to be ready for Camden on the 4th of July. We are going to go run some dirt races but we really need some road racing in. I plan to go to rebel on the 14th so if anyone wants to get together and go for that race call me. We can take the motors off the karts and stand them up and fit alot of karts in the trailer. So if we can get one trailer from jackson and one from hattiesburg we can save gas and all have some fun. Please let me know your input on the 21st so I can get things put in place. |

I am not going to make the trip to rebel on the 14th. We are going to a dirt race in gulfport. In order for me to rent the track for the 21st I need either Mark or Kevin to give me the go ahead. I would like to know who can make it also. I will probably make a few trips to sautier to practice also. if anyone is interested in coming down to play let me know your scedule and we may can work the practice times to your schedule. We just got Trace's national animals in today and plan on doing some practicing. You can call or email me or post on here. Kevin Claburn 601-315-0918 kevinclaburn@wb4me.com |
