normal restrictions apply for pets, like in any other city. Of course they are not allowed in public places like churches, museums, etc
They are allowed on vaporetto (water bus), as long as they have a valid ticket. Permission may be refused if you try to travel at busy times.
Dogs in apartments? For sure it will be easier to find a sympathetic owner to allow your dog in their apartments, than trying to take your pet in a hotel.

Replying to: Guten morgen!!
We are a German family and we want to go to Italy this coming summer. We have a dog and my question is: is one allowed to bring dogs into Venice? We are considering to rent an appartement because we are 2 adults and 3 children...and a dog. If so how about renting an appartement..could we bring our dog ?
Danke!!
Stian.
