CD is dead

There is much talk about the CD (Compact Disc) coming to an end. Ultimately, it is decided by the consumer. What do you say?
How long ago have you purchased a CD?
Is the most recent music you have from downloads on the internet?
Did you pay for them?
What loses are record stores and music labels suffering from?
How do artistes survive in the current music scene?

Re: CD is dead

I guess music is still better stored in CDs or any form of that. People who still go for the more sentimental way of keeping songs will source for CDs, LDs.
I believe, if you like certain artistes or songs, there'll be still reason to purchase them.

Haha.. I admit downloading more songs than buying CDs, cause I spend more money on film Dvds instead.

There are so many factors to consider on the producer side in regards to the losses. There is no way to stop downloading, or ripping music from someone else's Cd. Maybe if there is no such thing as CD album, and all songs have to be purchase directly from the producers, they can prevent more losses. However, the loop hole is: ppl still share their collection of music around!

Artistes still can survive on other ways of publication: MTV albums, souvenirs collections. As long as they maintain their quality of music, there will be no drastic losses. Just keep the popularity high to get your album purchased.
