Hi thanks Beth - I will see if I can find some Quick Cure and add it to the tank with the remaining pink male as a preventative measure. I dont remember a shiny film on the females, it was more tufts of white on the tail (one pet store guy told me it was calcium build up)and a thickening around the base of the tail which progressed to more tufts of white and eventually pinecone looking and death. The scary thing was nothing worked and since I was treating for fungus in the beginning I never switched to an antibiotic to the pinecone look set in which by then was probably to late. Thank you for the help - would not know what to do with out this site since no group/club near where I live.
