stress is the main cause of sickness. stress makes fish suceptable to diseases. the signs of stress are, sudden change in normal behavior such as hiding, weight loss, rapid breathing, gasping at surface, swimming in place and like u reported clamping or keeping fins folded along body. its obvious your fish is stressed...now is the time to act, before infection or disease takes advantage. once diseased fish must be medicated. things to test before treating with meds: amonia, nitrate, ph. have you been doing water changes regularly? is your tank over crowded? more fish mean more waste. whats the temperature? does he not like being confined in the net? all these things may stress a fish and cause the symptoms u are seeing....remember, its better to research before u treat. good luck- beth |
