Hey Cloe,
Are there any fish in the 20 gal? If not I would empty and bleach it. If you can, I would keep the male seperate for another week, just to be on the safe side. I would keep the male in the 2/12 gal and put the fry into the steralized 20. Actually, now that I thought about it, I would keep the male seperate from the juveniles. Specialty breeds are often heavily inbreed. By keeping the male with the juveniles you are encouraging this further. (Father to daughter) If you have the tank space you should use the juveniles to start two seperate lines. The first drops from these lines would be cousins but the further along you went the more you would distance the two lines. That way if one of the lines started to decline, you could use the other for an outcross or as backup in case of a disaster.
