I currently have Norton System Works installed on my computer. Can I still use all of the features without loading them at start up? Thanks. Rob
Absolutely. They'll be available for use in the programs menu. They just won't be on your system tray using up memory and processor resources.
Dave, in your opinion, what is the best choice for an anti-virus program?

AVG is my choice.
You can find a direct link for it on my site at: www.davemason.com/davespicks.html

I would uninstall Norton from the Add/Remove Programs Icon in the Control Panel. Make sure you download AVG from free.grisift.com first. After you uninstall Norton, you will reboot and install AVG. Of course you will want to update it immediately and run a complete manual scan as soon as is convenient.
I just purchased a Dell XPS laptop with XP Media Center. I am currently under a 30 free trial of Norton Antivirus, but I don't have any other security software at the moment. When the time comes (in about a week) to purchase Norton or something else, what is the best bang for my buck? (on my desktop PC I have Norton Antivirus, and Xoftspy spyware remover because Norton doesn't seem to protect at all from spyware etc. ) Is there one option that can cover everything from virus scanning, to pop ups, to spyware? Thanks so much for your help!
